WSPS Proudly Celebrates Africa Month

In honour of Africa month, which falls in May, the theme at our assembly this morning was a celebration of the legacy of our late former President in his centenary year. Nelson Mandela was born one hundred years ago, on 18 July 1918. He left future generations with some very wise words, such as the following:

BREAD TAG RECYCLE PROGRAMME

One component of the WSPS environmental sustainability and recycling programme is an interclass competition to see who can collect the most bread tags in a year. This fierce competition for bragging rights provides direct benefits to the Quadriplegic Association of South Africa (QASA). Marimbas in the Park Rocks Wandsbeck

The 3rd edition of the Marimbas in the Park spectacle took place on Wandsbeck field on Sunday afternoon, 25 June. Performances from all our Marimba Bands made for a wonderful afternoon of entertainment which was enjoyed by a sizeable crowd who filled Wandsbeck Field with their picnic baskets and blankets. Sharks Primary Schools’ Selections

We are very proud of Kade Muller who has been selected for the u13A Sharks Primary Schools’ team to participate at the Craven week in Bloemfontein. Michael Maddocks and Kade Muller were selected to represent the 7-A-Side Sharks KZN Team at the Inter provincial Tournament that will be held in the third term.  Mr Schuit has been selected to coach the u13B Sharks team who will be participating in the Primary Schools’ National Rugby Tournament in Sasolburg. Books 2 You Fair

A heartfelt thank you to our parent body and learners for the wonderful support shown at our annual Books 2 You promotion. The organisers said it was a pleasure to be in a school where the children were so polite, showed impeccable manners and were genuinely enthusiastic about books and reading. 55th Annual Interhouse Swimming Gala

A slightly overcast and warm summer morning provided the perfect setting for the 55th Annual WSPS Interhouse Swimming Gala.  The talented team of WSPS teachers made the most of the opportunity to coordinate another memorable event and the spirit of the supporting children and parents created a festive environment and inspired our swimmers to produce some excellent results.
