Lights On and Family Braai

Friday, 20 March saw the community turn out in large numbers for the “Lights On and Family Braai” event to celebrate the launch of the new floodlights on Wandsbeck Field. This WSPS Trust project has provided us with a superb floodlight facility and it highlights the positive influence a supportive community can have on their school. The drive and generosity of Matthew Blewett spearheaded this project and it was appropriate that he had the ceremonial honour of “flicking the switch”, and was presented with an award from the School, Governing Body and Trust.

Andrew Gourley (Chairman of the School Trust)  urged parents to support the Trust and strengthen the role of the community in  the development of school facilities. The Trust projects make it possible for our school to provide the kind of facilities and holistic education that will give our children a very solid foundation for their future.

Thank you to our Westville Principals Trevor Hall, Catherine Raw and Dot de Vries for attendance on the evening and their ongoing support.

Special thanks to our VIP rugby guests, Waylon Murray and Lionel Cronje for providing our children with the opportunity for a quick chat, autograph and photo session with their Sharks heroes.
