My greatest achievement for 2018 was being crowned “First Ever Pavilion Junior Chef”. This event was held over 2 months with many entrants displaying tremendous cooking skills and producing first class dishes in just one hour. I guess my cooking skills are part of my DNA – my mom is an excellent cook and my dad was in the top 35 of the first-ever MasterChef S.A. held in 2012.
My signature dishes included; Butter Chicken served with savoury rice and Thai Green Chicken served with fragrant Basmati rice and papadums.
The media exposure was tremendous and the judges included ECR Presenter – Darren Maule, Actress – Dawn King, Survivor SA Winner – Vanessa Marawa, MasterChef Winner – Marcel Roberts and other top hotel chefs.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I’m a proud winner of prizes valued to approximately R50 000 which included and Elbagas stove, a family holiday to the Wildekrans Wine Estate including the flights and a Toys R Us voucher.
